Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer & Canva Specialist to support a mortgage/loan officer team with high-quality social media graphics, short-form videos, and content for workshops and events. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Canva, with strong design skills and the ability to maintain brand consistency across multiple platforms. This role includes template management, short-form video creation, and light video editing for podcasts and YouTube content.

Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (includes 1-hour unpaid break)

Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Canva Production
-
Design and edit on-brand graphics using Canva for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

Create static posts, carousels, stories, and event promos

Resize and optimize graphics for multiple formats (1:1, 4:5, 9:16)

Create and update flyers, digital handouts, and one-page PDFs for workshops, education courses, community events, and loan product resources

Apply brand standards consistently (colors, fonts, logos)
Template Management & Loan Officer Support

Maintain and update Canva templates for loan officers, including social media posts and custom graphics

Customize templates by updating headshots, contact details, and compliance disclosures
-
Adjust messaging while staying brand compliant
-
Create new templates based on campaign/design direction and brand look
Short-Form Video & Reels

Create short-form vertical videos (10–30 seconds) for Instagram and Facebook Reels

Add text overlays, captions, light motion graphics, and branded elements

Repurpose longer video content into short clips using Canva or similar tools
Podcast & YouTube Support

Perform light video editing using Riverside.fm or similar software

Edit audio for clarity, remove pauses, ensure clean framing, and add captions

Upload videos to YouTube with intro clips, Canva-designed thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and final upload

Export clips optimized for social media use
Requirements

Advanced proficiency in Canva

Experience creating social media graphics and short-form video (applications with portfolios will be prioritized)

Strong visual design skills and attention to detail

Ability to follow brand guidelines precisely

Comfortable working from examples and creative direction

Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an Independent Contractor, selected candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection. Contractors are responsible for their own benefits and taxes. Professional fees are hourly and depend on performance during the application process.
