CAD Design Engineer (SolidWorks)

Job Description:
The CAD Design Engineer will provide technical support focused on CAD modelling, technical drawings, and basic visual outputs. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, suited to someone confident working with SolidWorks, parametric models, and British engineering drawing standards.
The engagement is project-based with clearly defined deliverables and a fixed contract duration.
Key Responsibilities:

Create and modify CAD parts and assemblies using SolidWorks

Produce technical drawings in line with BS8888 engineering drawing standards

Update and manipulate parametric CAD models as design requirements change

Create exploded views for assemblies and technical documentation

Ensure all drawings and models meet accuracy, clarity, and quality standards

Complete basic image and animation rendering to support visual presentation needs

Review and revise CAD outputs based on feedback

Maintain organised CAD files and documentation throughout the project
Requirements (Skills):

Strong experience using SolidWorks for parts, assemblies, and drawings

Working knowledge of BS8888 engineering drawing standards

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to update parametric models and generate exploded views

Experience producing basic CAD renders, images, or simple animations

Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines

Clear written communication skills

Ownership of a commercial SolidWorks licence is a bonus
As this is a work-from-home role, you must have your own computer capable of running CAD software and a stable internet connection.
