Role Overview:
The Product Innovation Manager will own end-to-end product innovation and product
management, from scouting manufacturers and developing new products to improving existing SKUs and managing launch readiness. This role reports directly to the CEO and requires a hands-on product operator with strong structure, commercial awareness, and execution discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Innovation & Development
- Lead new product development initiatives across Baya’s portfolio.
- Identify and execute opportunities to reformulate and improve existing products.
- Drive packaging innovation across materials, formats, cost optimization, and usability.
- Develop and manage line extensions, including new scents, formats, and sizes.
Manufacturer Scouting & Management
- Scout, evaluate, and onboard manufacturers primarily across Asia, Europe, and the
GCC. - Manage sampling, testing, and iteration cycles with suppliers.
- Build structured supplier comparisons covering pricing, MOQs, lead times, and
capabilities. - Prepare clear recommendations for supplier and product decisions for CEO approval.
Product Lifecycle & Roadmapping
- Own the full product lifecycle from concept to post-launch optimization.
- Build and maintain product roadmaps, timelines, and development trackers.
- Ensure accurate documentation of product specifications, BOMs, and packaging details.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Logistics, and Compliance teams.
- Coordinate with sustainability and certification partners as required.
- Present progress, risks, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and
shareholders.
Hard Skills & Tools (Product Innovation)
- Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets for BOMs, cost modeling, and supplier
analysis. - Hands-on experience with Jira, Trello, Notion, Asana, or similar tools for product
tracking. - Advanced use of Google Drive / Workspace for documentation and collaboration.
- Ability to build and manage product roadmaps, sampling trackers, and development
timelines. - Strong documentation skills for product briefs, specifications, and SOPs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in product innovation, product management, or NPD within
FMCG or consumer brands. - Hands-on experience working with manufacturers across Asia, Europe, and/or the GCC.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and execution skills.
- Commercially aware and comfortable working with cost trade-offs.
- Fluent in English. Additional languages are a plus.
