Xero Bookkeeping Specialist

Schedule:

  • 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible during business hours.

Company Overview:

Our client is an established Australian business operating in the mobility and equipment hire sector. The company manages a high volume of inventory, supplier transactions, and point-of-sale activity, with systems in place to support accuracy, compliance, and scalable growth. This role will support the finance and operations teams by ensuring financial data, inventory records, and reporting are maintained accurately across systems.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, transaction processing, and inventory coordination. The ideal candidate has strong experience using Xero and is comfortable working with POS and inventory systems, ensuring records are accurate, reconciled, and ready for management review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Upload supplier bills into Xero for payment processing
  • Reconcile bank transactions, including incoming and outgoing payments
  • Transfer and reconcile transactions from the POS system (HirePOS) into Xero
  • Match purchase orders to bills and ensure accurate records are pushed to Xero for payment
  • Update buy and sell pricing within HirePOS as required
  • Maintain inventory records in HirePOS, including receiving goods in and out
  • Run financial, inventory, and operational reports from Xero and HirePOS for management review

Requirements:

  • Proven experience using Xero for bookkeeping and reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and transaction matching
  • Experience working with POS and inventory systems (HirePOS experience highly regarded but not required)
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to follow established processes and meet reporting deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
