Financial Accounting Analyst

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST

About the Role
You’ll own end-to-end accounting for multiple clients while contributing to smarter, more scalable internal processes. This role goes well beyond execution: we’re looking for someone who anticipates issues, elevates standards, and helps shape how work gets done across the firm.

This is a high-ownership opportunity for someone with strong technical depth, sharp business judgment, and the confidence to lead with clients and internally. You’ll work in a fast-evolving environment where systems, workflows, and tools (including AI-enabled solutions) are continuously improving.

Key Responsibilities
Multi-Client Accounting Ownership

  • Manage a portfolio of clients with accuracy, speed, and strong client service.

  • Own full-cycle accounting: AP/AR, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.

  • Apply fluency across both operational accounting and technical/GAAP matters

  • Maintain clean, audit-ready financials while balancing competing priorities

  • Act as a trusted partner by surfacing issues early and proposing practical solutions

Financial Analysis & Insight

  • Build advanced models, dashboards, and KPI reporting in Google Sheets

  • Analyze trends and translate findings into clear, actionable insights

  • Support forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic finance initiatives

  • Communicate results in a polished, business-ready manner (written + verbal)

Tech-Forward Process Development

  • Operate in a cloud-based environment with continuously improving workflows

  • Identify, test, and implement technology improvements, including AI-enabled enhancements

  • Apply systems thinking to make work simpler, faster, and more scalable

  • Create templates, documentation, and firm-wide standards that raise quality

Leadership & Quality Control

  • Delegate and oversee work across the team to ensure consistency and accuracy

  • Review deliverables and uphold rigorous quality standards

  • Coach and support junior team members through feedback and guidance

  • Contribute to scalable processes and best practices across the firm

Workflow & Capacity Management

  • Maintain the close calendar and deadline schedule across multiple clients

  • Track budgeted hours vs. actuals; flag scope creep and resourcing risks early

  • Build and maintain Asana workflows (tasks, dependencies, templates, recurring cycles) to keep deliverables on time and execution predictable

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced Google Sheets skills (complex formulas, modeling, structured design, error-proofing)

  • Strong experience with QuickBooks Online and Xero (NetSuite a plus)

  • Comfortable learning new tools quickly and working in modern accounting tech stacks

  • Understanding of cloud-based accounting systems and integrations

  • Familiarity with AI tools and practical applications in accounting/finance is a strong advantage

  • Some coding/development experience is a plus

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a multi-client environment (or similar high-velocity accounting setting)

  • CPA/CMA or advanced accounting degree required

  • Strong GAAP foundation with hands-on technical accounting experience

  • Excellent written and spoken English (clear, concise, business-ready)

  • Proven judgment, problem-solving ability, and fast learning curve

  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable owning outcomes

  • Tech-forward, curious professionals energized by change

  • Systems thinkers who enjoy building smarter workflows

  • Accountants who blend analytical rigor with business intuition

  • People who thrive in small, selective, high-performing teams

Independent Contractor Perks

  • Health Insurance Coverage for eligible locations
  • Permanent work from home
  • Immediate hiring
