Marketing Specialist

Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive, strategy-driven Marketing Specialist who can take ownership of our marketing direction and execution. This role goes beyond task-based support—you will be expected to lead marketing initiatives, propose data-backed strategies, and drive consistent momentum across social media and digital channels.

The ideal candidate is confident in identifying opportunities, presenting ideas, and executing marketing plans with minimal hand-holding, while aligning closely with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing Leadership

  • Develop and propose short-term and long-term marketing strategies aligned with company objectives

  • Identify gaps in current marketing efforts and proactively recommend improvements

  • Translate business goals into clear, actionable marketing initiatives

Social Media Management & Growth

  • Plan, create, schedule, and manage content across relevant social media platforms

  • Drive engagement, reach, and brand visibility through organic and paid strategies

  • Manage and execute social media boosting/paid promotions (e.g., Meta/Facebook), including troubleshooting platform or account-related issues

  • Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategy based on results

Content & Campaign Execution

  • Create or coordinate marketing content (copy, visuals, basic videos where applicable)

  • Launch and manage marketing campaigns from ideation to execution

  • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all channels

Market & Lead Research (Secondary Focus)

  • Conduct targeted lead and market research with an emphasis on local and online opportunities relevant to rural Canadian markets

  • Identify potential customers, partners, or channels that support business growth

  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Marketing Specialist, Digital Marketer, or similar role

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially Meta/Facebook

  • Demonstrated ability to create and lead marketing strategies independently

  • Experience with paid social media advertising and boosting

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret marketing data

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to clearly understand instructions and proactively ask the right questions
