Marketing Automation & Tracking Engineer

Job Highlights:

We’re looking for someone who loves building and improving the systems behind marketing and sales. You’ll make sure the company can collect data, track customer activity, automate campaigns, and give teams the information they need to grow the business.

What You’ll Do

Marketing Systems (70%)

  • Set up and manage tools that collect customer data (like Segment)
  • Make sure websites, apps, and other systems send accurate data
  • Track customer behavior, events, and conversions across platforms
  • Set up and maintain tags, pixels, and tracking systems for ads
  • Automate email campaigns, lead scoring, and customer segments
  • Integrate systems like HubSpot, Customer.io, or Braze so data flows automatically
  • Build dashboards and reports to help teams see what’s working

Sales & Marketing Automation (30%)

  • Connect marketing, sales, and product data to create smart workflows
  • Send leads to the right people automatically
  • Set up alerts and dashboards for sales and customer support teams
  • Help teams make decisions based on accurate, real-time data
  • Work with engineers to make sure data is collected and stored correctly

What You Need

Technical Skills

  • 2+ years working with Segment or similar customer data tools
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager (both regular and server-side)
  • Understanding of event tracking and data flows
  • Experience with marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Customer.io, Braze)

Other Skills

  • Comfortable working with APIs, webhooks, and JSON
  • Can troubleshoot technical issues across multiple systems
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Able to manage multiple client projects

Bonus Skills

  • JavaScript for custom tagging or data tracking
  • Experience with CRMs like Salesforce or HubSpot CRM
  • Understanding attribution and campaign reporting
  • Experience working in SaaS, eCommerce, or startups
