Senior Graphic Designer

Schedule & Hours:

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Brisbane Time)
Hours: 40 hours per week

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Senior Graphic Designer who doesn’t just “make things look nice” but understands brand systems, visual hierarchy, and performance-driven design. You’ll be translating marketing strategy into premium, high-impact visuals across digital and print—working within a clearly defined brand identity inspired by performance, recovery, and modern athletic culture.

If you care about composition, typography, lighting, and consistency, and you can execute fast without sacrificing quality, this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Designing:

You’ll be producing assets similar in quality and style to premium fitness, recovery, and lifestyle brands—where clarity, hierarchy, and mood matter as much as aesthetics.

Your outputs will include:

  • Social media posts, stories, and carousels
  • Promotional flyers and campaign visuals
  • Print materials (brochures, in-store signage, event collateral)
  • Pitch decks and sales presentations (Canva-based)
Core Design Expectations (Very Important)

We’re explicitly looking for a designer who understands and can execute the following:

1. Visual Identity & Composition

  • Grid Systems: Confident use of the rule of thirds for lifestyle imagery and Diagonal / Dynamic Grids for promotional layouts to create movement and energy.
  • Editorial Collage Techniques: Ability to use Vertical Slicing and multi-panel layouts to showcase multiple services within a single frame.
  • Visual Hierarchy: Strong top-down hierarchy—Hero Headline first, Secondary Utility Text second, and CTA last. No clutter, no guessworks

2. Typography Mastery

  • Primary Typeface: Bold, extended sans-serif styles (e.g., Montserrat, Druk-style variants) used for hero headlines that convey strength and premium confidence.
  • Secondary Typeface: Clean, geometric sans-serif fonts for body copy and service lists.
  • Type Treatment: Intentional kerning and letter-spacing to maintain legibility over complex or photographic background

3. Color & Photography Direction

  • Monochromatic Color Control: Warm ambers for heat/sauna environments and cool cyans/blues for contrast therapy and pools.
  • Lighting Awareness: Designs that complement moody, high-contrast photography with LED accents and red-light therapy aesthetics.
  • Brand Palette Discipline: Confident use of deep teal / petrol blue as a dominant brand color block for informational layout.

4. Graphic Elements & Systems

  • Logo Lockups: Correct and consistent use of brand marks (circle stamp lockups, minimalist logo variants, and location tagging).
  • Iconography: Clean, minimalist line icons to categorize services quickly and clearly.

If these concepts feel familiar—and exciting—you’re likely a strong fit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ability to work fast without sacrificing detail
  • Design high-quality social media graphics, stories, and campaign carousels
  • Create print-ready layouts for flyers, brochures, and in-store material
  • Maintain strict brand consistency across all assets.
  • Build professional presentations and pitch decks in Canva.
  • Collaborate with marketing to turn strategy into visuals quickly
  • Handle light admin tasks (file organization, exports, basic coordination)
Requirements:

Important: This role is NOT for template-based designers.

If your primary workflow relies on pre-made Canva, Envato, or social media templates with minimal structural modification, this role will not be a fit. We’re looking for designers who can build layouts from scratch—using grids, hierarchy, and typography intentionally.

  • 2–3+ years experience as a Graphic Designer (senior-level execution expected
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems, typography, and layout thinking
  • Prior experience working with corporate or established brands
  • Proven ability to design for both digital and print
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly Regarded:
  • Ability to work fast without sacrificing detail
  • Strong eye for alignment, spacing, and hierarchy
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of output quality
  • Experience designing for fitness, wellness, lifestyle, or performance brands
Independent Contractor Perks:
  • Health Insurance Coverage for eligible locations
  • Permanent work-from-home
  • Immediate hiring

Applicants without portfolios will not be considered.

We’re not looking for generic designers—we’re looking for someone who understands brand-led, performance-driven visual systems and can execute them consistently.
