This is a fully remote role, working primarily during Australian business hours (9 AM - 5 PM AEST), with flexibility for early or late requests.

About the Role:

As a Research Associate with this well known medium Legal business in Australia, you will bring forward your strong Recruitment skills and experience backed up by your legal knowledge, qualifications or recruitment within the legal field. You will be the Expert Sourcing Specialist and will play a vital role in identifying, assessing, and engaging top-tier experts across diverse industries to meet demanding legal case briefs. You’ll work closely with legal and account management teams to deliver timely, high-quality expert matches while building lasting relationships within your network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth desktop research to find relevant experts that align with complex legal case requirements.
  • Source experts beyond internal databases, focusing on niche, international, and hard-to-reach sectors.
  • Analyze case briefs to advise on expert suitability, scope, and potential challenges.
  • Prepare detailed expert capability assessments covering commercial fit, credibility, and risks.
  • Engage directly with experts to evaluate their independence, availability, and relevance.
  • Build and nurture long-term expert relationships to ensure responsiveness and quality.
  • Collaborate with Account and Case teams to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Maintain and update internal databases with sourcing insights and risk notes.
  • Monitor industry trends to expand and strengthen the expert network.
  • Manage multiple urgent requests efficiently with accuracy.
  • Share sourcing best practices and contribute to process improvements.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Science, Engineering, Research, or related fields
  • 1–3 years’ experience in recruitment, research, legal support, or professional services.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex briefs and overcome sourcing challenges.
  • Excellent English communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of professional services or legal industry dynamics.
  • Confidence engaging with senior professionals and providing clear recommendations.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Relationship-building and problem-solving abilities.
  • Managerial or leadership experience is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely.
  • Attention to detail in matching expert profiles to client requirements.
