UI/UX Product Designer (End-to-End)
Schedule:
- 40 hours a week Mon-Fri (Flexible) but will require weekly check-ins and planning - Oregon PST
Role Overview
We are looking for a full-stack Product Designer to lead the end-to-end design of a game-based STEM WebApp for K–5 students. This is a product-focused role — not a marketing website role — requiring game-thinking, systems thinking, and business awareness.
The ideal candidate can design the entire experience, from user flows and wireframes to high-fidelity UI and scalable design systems, delivering quality work quickly.
This role thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment, where design, development, and launch occur in rapid cycles to reach market-ready in ~14 weeks (Concept-to-Cash).
Core Skill Requirements
Technical / Product Design
- End-to-end UX design: user journeys, onboarding, and retention flows
- High-fidelity prototyping at expert level (Figma)
- Creation of scalable design systems
- Interaction and micro-interaction design
- Subscription and activation flow experience
- Metrics-aware design thinking: engagement, retention, and conversion
Game & Experience Thinking
- Design immersive learning environments
- Develop progression systems and reward loops
- Structure mastery-based levels
- Create engaging experiences without dark patterns
Art Direction & Visual Design
- Strong visual storytelling and world-building ability
- Kid-friendly yet elevated aesthetic (not cartoonish or corporate SaaS)
- Mastery of typography, color systems, and UI hierarchy
- Experience with 2D/3D animations and immersive environments
Startup & Team Fit
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration
- Strong communication and collaboration with founders and cross-functional teams
- Strategic thinker, creatively disruptive, and able to see the big picture
- Culturally aware — understands urban, BIPOC, and “swag” sensibilities without relying on stereotypes
