Social Media & Communications Specialist

We are seeking a creative and proactive Social Media and Communications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will ideate and produce engaging content for Instagram and Facebook, including posts, graphics, and video reels that highlight student experiences. You will manage consistent posting schedules, craft and distribute weekly and monthly newsletters, and generate email communications for parents and school followers. In addition, you will handle administrative tasks such as responding to inquiries, addressing operational questions regarding school schedules and contracts, and providing general executive support as needed. The ideal candidate will have mid-level experience managing social media for educational organizations, be proficient in Canva for content creation, and possess strong written communication skills. Familiarity with private school environments, the ability to work flexible hours in the California time zone, and experience handling sensitive information, particularly related to children, are highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Ideate and create engaging social media content for Instagram and Facebook platforms
  • Design posts and graphics using Canva for social media campaigns
  • Create video reels and snippets from class videos to showcase student experiences
  • Post content consistently (every other day) across social media platforms
  • Write and distribute monthly and weekly newsletters to parents and followers
  • Generate email communications for parents and school followers
  • Handle administrative tasks including responding to student and parent inquiries
  • Answer operational questions about school schedules, spring breaks, and contract timelines
  • Support general executive assistant duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Mid-level experience with Instagram and Facebook social media management
  • Proficiency in Canva for graphic design and content creation
  • Understanding of educational environments and working with parents/children
  • Experience in private school or educational marketing preferred
  • Strong written communication skills for newsletters and email generation
  • Ability to work flexible hours in California time zone
  • Experience handling sensitive data, particularly involving children
  • Background in social media content creation and campaign management
