Role Overview:
As a Construction Bookkeeper, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting job-costing, and providing reporting for multiple construction projects. You’ll work closely with the operations and project teams to ensure financials are aligned with ongoing project progress.
Your prior experience supporting Australian builders is essential, and you’ll be expected to manage bookkeeping tasks with precision, including job-costing, progress claim support, and PO reconciliation. This part-time role is ideal if you have a strong understanding of Australian residential construction accounting and enjoy working in a structured, detail-oriented environment.
Company Overview:
You’ll be joining an Australian residential building company that specialises in high-quality home construction and development projects. The company is known for professionalism, craftsmanship, and seamless project delivery. You’ll work closely with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure projects run efficiently from planning through completion.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Duncraig WA time includes 30-minute paid break(8 hours a day/40hours per week)

Responsibilities:
Financial Recordkeeping & Xero Management
- Upload, code, and categorise receipts and invoices in Xero with proper job allocation
- Perform manual data entry for financial transactions
- Categorise expenses and income to specific construction projects
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple ongoing jobs
Job-Costing & Construction Finance Support
- Support progress claim preparation for ongoing construction projects
- Reconcile purchase orders (POs) and track project expenditures
- Prepare cost-to-complete reports to monitor job profitability
- Assist with month-end financial organisation and reporting
Collaboration & Compliance
- Work closely with project and operations teams to ensure job costs are accurate
- Handle confidential financial information with professionalism
- Support the business in maintaining financial compliance and accuracy
Requirements:
- Proven bookkeeping experience (not just administrative)
- Proficiency with Xero accounting software
- Strong understanding of job-costing and project-based accounting
- Experience supporting Australian builders or construction projects
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage confidential financial information responsibly
- Experience in construction or project-based industries preferred
