This is an exciting opportunity to serve as the vital communication bridge between patients and healthcare providers in a dynamic podiatry practice. You’ll be at the heart of patient care operations, using your bilingual skills to ensure Spanish-speaking patients receive seamless, compassionate service. What makes this role unique is the innovative use of technology - you’ll provide real-time translation support during patient consultations via video calls, essentially “walking” with the doctor from room to room virtually. This position combines traditional medical administrative duties with cutting-edge telemedicine support, making you an integral part of the patient care experience while working remotely with modern technology platforms.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, answering incoming calls and providing exceptional customer service in both English and Spanish
- Manage the appointment scheduling system, coordinating patient visits and optimizing the practice’s daily schedule
- Proactively send appointment reminders to patients, helping reduce no-shows and improve practice efficiency
- Handle multi-channel communications including phone calls, text messages, emails, and fax correspondence
- Navigate and maintain accurate patient records in the Practice Fusion EMR system
- Provide innovative live translation services during patient consultations via Zoom video calls
- Facilitate real-time communication between the doctor and Spanish-speaking patients during medical examinations
- Schedule follow-up appointments immediately following patient visits based on treatment recommendations
- Support the practice’s growth by maintaining organized patient communication workflows
Requirements
- Fluency in both English and Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in medical administration, medical reception, or healthcare customer service roles
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, with Practice Fusion experience preferred
- Comfort with modern technology including soft phone systems, video conferencing platforms, and multi-channel communication tools
- Ability to work Eastern Time zone business hours consistently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced medical environment
- Professional demeanor and empathetic communication style when interacting with patients
- Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace suitable for video calls and patient interactions
