We are looking for an experienced Team Manager / Senior Accountant with strong leadership skills and a solid accounting background. This role combines team management, quality control, and client communication, while also contributing to bookkeeping oversight and higher-level accounting review.
You will lead a team of approximately seven remote accounting professionals, ensuring high-quality work, meeting deadlines, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal team members and external clients.

Job Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage a team of approximately seven accounting and bookkeeping professionals.
- Provide day-to-day oversight, support, and motivation to ensure the team performs at a high level.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive working environment.
- Understand each team member’s strengths, attitude, and motivation, and help them develop professionally.
Accounting & Financial Oversight
- Review bookkeeping and accounting work produced by the team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support both operational bookkeeping tasks and higher-level accounting reviews when required.
- Maintain high standards in financial reporting and client deliverables.
Quality Control & Deadline Management
- Monitor the quality of work produced by the team.
- Track deadlines and ensure that all deliverables are completed on time.
- Implement processes that improve efficiency, organization, and accuracy.
Client Communication
- Communicate directly with clients when appropriate to provide updates or clarification.
- Ensure clients receive a high level of service and responsiveness.
- Build strong relationships with clients by maintaining clear, professional communication.
Strategic Coordination
- Work closely with company leadership on team coordination and operational improvements.
- Provide feedback and insights on team performance and workflow processes.
- Contribute to the long-term growth and development of the team structure.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (or equivalent accounting qualification).
- 5–18 years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
- Experience managing or supervising teams in an accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and financial reporting processes.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Confident, personable, and naturally extroverted personality.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to balance team management with technical accounting work.
- Highly organized with strong deadline management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with UK accounting standards or UK-based clients.
- Experience working with international or remote teams.
- Familiarity with cloud accounting platforms such as Xero or QuickBooks
- Previous experience in a client-facing accounting role.
