Role Overview
We are looking for a versatile Full Stack AI Development Engineer to join a lean, high-velocity team. You won't just be "calling APIs"; you will be architecting the next generation of AI-native platforms. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of generative features—spanning image, audio, and code generation—ensuring that our infrastructure is as robust as our models are intelligent.
Work Schedule: 40hrs per week, Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm with 1 hour unpaid break Sydney Time
Independent Contractor Perks
- Health insurance in eligible locations
- Permanent work from home
- Immediate hiring
Responsibilities
- AI-Native Infrastructure: Design and implement scalable backend architectures specifically optimized for generative AI (Image, Audio, Code)
- End-to-End Feature Ownership: Lead the development of web applications from UI/UX implementation to complex server-side logic and model integration.
- Model Orchestration: Develop and maintain sophisticated RAG (Retrieval-Augmented
- Generation) pipelines and multi-agent systems to ensure high-quality, context-aware outputs.
- Performance Engineering: Optimize inference latency and token usage; implement caching strategies and streaming responses to ensure a "zero-lag" user experience.
- Ecosystem Integration: Build and refine agentic development workflows that empower the team to move faster using the latest AI-assisted coding tools.
Requirements
- Full Stack Mastery: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a deep command of Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- AI Specialization: 2+ years of hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGPT) and direct integration with OpenAI, Vertex, Anthropic, and/or other open-source models, frameworks, and APIs.
- Generative Systems: Proven track record of building, fine-tuning, or deploying Generative AI systems (Stable Diffusion, Whisper, Claude, Gemini, GPT-4, etc.).
- Agentic Workflows: Expertise in configuring and utilizing AI-first development environments (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate the SDLC.
- Cloud & DevOps: Experience architecting on major cloud providers (GCP, Azure, or AWS) with a focus on GPU provisioning, containers, and serverless scaling.
- Modern Web Stack: Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js) and robust backend patterns (FastAPI, Node.js).
Nice to Have Skills
- Multi-Platform Deployment: Experience shipping cross-platform applications via Electron (Desktop) or React Native (Mobile).
- Data Architecture: Deep understanding of Vector Databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) alongside traditional SQL/NoSQL systems.
- Containerization: Mastery of Docker and Kubernetes for consistent deployment across environments.
- Fine-tuning & LoRA: Experience with PEFT (Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning) or training custom weights for specific domain tasks.
Side Note
-
This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
