Our client is looking for a crucial first point of contact for potential clients, building the foundation for meaningful business relationships that help local entrepreneurs succeed. This role puts you at the center of a growing operation where your communication skills and cultural awareness directly impact small business owners throughout one of America’s most diverse markets. You’ll have the autonomy to research, connect, and qualify prospects while working with a client who values quality appointments over quantity.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM PST (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct targeted cold calling to local businesses, including retail shops, auto shops, restaurants, barbershops, nail salons, and other credit card processing establishments
  • Research and compile qualified lead lists using Google Maps and online tools within 50-100 mile radius of specified Los Angeles County locations
  • Confirm business ownership and decision-maker contact information during initial outreach calls
  • Set and confirm qualified appointments for in-person merchant services consultations
  • Maintain detailed records and provide comprehensive daily reports on calling activities and appointment outcomes
  • Follow up with prospects to ensure appointment confirmations and reduce no-shows
  • Communicate professionally in both English and Spanish when engaging with Latino business owners
  • Track key performance indicators including calls made, contacts reached, qualified prospects, and confirmed appointments set

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with clear, professional phone presence suitable for business-to-business calling
  • Previous experience in cold calling, appointment setting, lead generation, or customer outreach roles
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred due to diverse Los Angeles market demographics
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during flexible 20-hour weekly schedule
  • Proficiency with Google Maps, basic computer applications, and ability to quickly learn new software platforms
  • Reliable internet connection and quiet, professional workspace for conducting business calls

Qualifications

  • Bonus if you have experience with CRM systems, phone dialers, or VoIP platforms
  • It helps if you understand small business operations or have worked in merchant services, payments, or financial services
