Job Overview
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Lead Reservation Specialist to oversee booking operations and ensure a seamless experience for customers. This role balances high-level operational oversight with hands-on customer support, requiring a blend of leadership, technical proficiency, and exceptional communication skills. You will manage daily reservations, coordinate vehicle allocations, and serve as a senior point of contact for troubleshooting complex booking conflicts in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule
- Part-Time: Tuesday & Wednesday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST (16 hours per week)
- Flexibility: Potential for additional shifts to cover team PTO and a path toward Full-Time (FT) status in the future based on performance and business growth.

Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Monitor daily reservations to ensure targets and service levels are met; oversee the reservation system to ensure vehicle availability, accurate pricing, and rental terms.
- Customer Support & Conflict Resolution: Handle high-volume inbound calls, emails, and live chats; address complex complaints, modifications, and overbookings with professional poise.
- Fleet Coordination: Manage real-time reservation updates and coordinate vehicle allocations based on location demands, maintenance schedules, and customer preferences.
- Team Leadership: Assist the Supervisor in training new hires and provide ongoing guidance on best practices and customer service protocols.
- Sales & Growth: Promote additional services (e.g., damage waivers, unlimited mileage) and develop strong relationships to encourage repeat business and positive reviews.
- Administrative Accuracy: Maintain precise records of cancellations, no-shows, and refunds; handle payment processing and billing inquiries as needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in reservations, hospitality, or car rental services.
- Exceptional communication skills for managing high-volume customer interactions and inter-departmental collaboration.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with reservation management software (GDS or proprietary systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to resolve complex booking conflicts and pressure-filled customer complaints.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in the car rental industry (Highly Regarded).
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and implement efficiency-driven solutions (Preferred).
- Availability for on-call shifts or emergencies during peak times (Preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on data integrity and reservation accuracy.
