Data Entry Specialist

Job Description

You’ll play a crucial role in organizing and standardizing a large-scale product database, helping transform how this established company manages their extensive inventory. This position offers the opportunity to work with meaningful data that directly impacts business operations, with strong potential for role expansion as the project grows. You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring product information accuracy across multiple systems.

Responsibilities

  • Match item identification numbers between internal company spreadsheets and manufacturer databases
  • Research and identify corresponding manufacturer part numbers for company products
  • Populate manufacturer item IDs into the company’s master spreadsheet system
  • Assign confidence levels to data matches using a systematic color-coding approach (green for confident matches, yellow for uncertain, red for no matches found)
  • Process and organize large volumes of product data with high attention to detail
  • Maintain data accuracy standards while working through approximately 40,000 product SKUs
  • Communicate progress and findings directly with company leadership
  • Follow specific guidelines and procedures for data matching and verification

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with data entry, data matching, or similar analytical tasks
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
  • Good research skills for finding and cross-referencing product information
  • Reliable internet connection for remote work
  • Bonus if you have experience with product catalogs or inventory management
  • It helps if you’re comfortable working with large datasets
