Quickbooks Bookkeeper (Childcare Services)

Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to manage the financial operations of an established childcare academy and its expanding portfolio. With one location operating for nine years, a second opening soon, and two additional side businesses in development, the client needs a professional who can work independently across multiple entities. You will be responsible for providing high-level financial insights and ensuring all records are meticulous as the business scales.

Client Overview

A growing childcare business that's currently in a significant expansion phase, moving from a single established academy to a multi-entity operation, requiring a proactive financial partner to oversee their diverse business interests.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM PST (20 hours per week)
    Note: This role has the potential to transition into a Full-Time position as the business continues to grow and the additional entities become fully operational.

Responsibilities

  • Multi-Entity Bookkeeping: Perform independent bank reconciliations across multiple business accounts, ensuring accurate separation of funds for different locations and ventures.
  • QuickBooks Management: Input financial data into QuickBooks Online and meticulously verify that all credit card transactions match internal records.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and other key financial reports to guide management decisions.
  • Data Visualization: Create financial charts and year-on-year comparisons to track business performance and expansion trends.
  • Operational Support: Assist with basic administrative tasks during lighter bookkeeping periods to support the overall efficiency of the childcare business.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience specifically with QuickBooks Online.
  • Proven ability to work independently without requiring step-by-step guidance or constant supervision.
  • Strong understanding of the full bookkeeping cycle, including complex reconciliation processes and financial reporting.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying financial discrepancies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing bookkeeping for multiple business entities simultaneously (Highly Regarded).
  • Background in the childcare or education service industry (Preferred).
  • Proficiency in creating visual financial reports and charts for executive review (Preferred).
  • Ability to multitask and transition between bookkeeping and general administrative support seamlessly.

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
