Job Overview
Our client is looking for a highly experienced, proactive US Bookkeeper to take ownership of their financial operations as they scale. This is not an entry-level role. Our client is seeking someone who can lead, guide, and improve bookkeeping practices—not someone who needs to be trained. You’ll work closely with the CFO and accountant to bring structure, accuracy, and insight to financials as the company transitions into its next stage of growth.

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM CST, with 30-minute unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple entities/locations
- Manage AR/AP, reconciliations, and monthly close
- Maintain clean, accurate, and up-to-date financial records
- Support and help lead the transition from cash to accrual accounting
- Ensure systems, processes, and reporting are best-in-class
- Identify inefficiencies and proactively improve workflows
- Complete and maintain accurate payroll execution
- Collaborate with leadership on financial visibility and reporting
Requirements
- Proven experience in US bookkeeping (required)
- Strong understanding of both cash and accrual accounting
- Experience working with growing businesses (multi-location a plus)
- Ability to work independently and lead without hand-holding
- Someone who can teach, guide, and elevate internal processes
- Close attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Clear, professional English communication
Bonus Points
- Experience in service-based or hospitality businesses
- Familiarity with tools like QuickBooks, Gusto, Stripe, etc.
- Experience working with remote teams
