Our client is seeking a Spanish Bilingual Medical Assistant to support physicians and staff, ensuring smooth office operations and an excellent patient experience. In this role, you will primarily manage insurance authorizations and patient scheduling, serving as a key point of contact between the office, patients, and external facilities. This position is ideal for someone passionate about healthcare and skilled in communication, organization, and multitasking.
Responsibilities:

Managing patient scheduling, rescheduling, reminders, and provider calendars.

Handling patient communication, including phone calls, voicemails, texts, emails, and portal messages.

Processing intake forms, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and referrals.

Preparing and maintaining accurate and complete electronic medical records (EMR), including uploading and organizing operative reports, pathology, labs, imaging, and outside records.

Assisting with billing and claims support, including charge entry, denial follow-up, pre-authorizations, and coordination with billing staff.

Coordinating procedure preparation and follow-up, including sending instructions, confirming patient readiness, and documenting communication.

Drafting and routing letters, forms, and communications to referring physicians, patients, and insurance carriers.

Monitoring results and ensuring timely provider review of pathology, imaging, and laboratory reports.

Supporting compliance and quality initiatives, including HIPAA compliance, tracking turnaround times, and maintaining office logs.

Facilitating telehealth workflows, including sending links, troubleshooting access, and documenting encounters.

Performing any other administrative or medical office support duties reasonably required to ensure efficient and effective practice operations.

The MA agrees that their role is broad in scope and encompasses any task related to the daily operations of the medical office.
Requirements
- Must be proficient in ECW (eClinicalWorks)
- Strong hands-on experience in the medical field, not just interpretation.
- 2+ years handling medical insurance authorizations
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
- Must have had HIPAA training (HIPAA certification preferred)
- Comfortable managing high call volumes and emails
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Experience in fast-paced medical office settings
- Responsible, dependable, and willing to work extra hours as needed
