Bookkeeper with Collections Focus – Pool Services | Remote | Immediate Start

Job Description: You’ll take ownership of the complete financial cycle for a dynamic service business, from daily bookkeeping to customer collections. This role combines traditional accounting with direct customer interaction, giving you the chance to make a real impact on cash flow and business operations. You’ll work closely with the business owners to implement better processes and free them up to focus on growth, making this perfect for someone who wants variety and meaningful responsibility in a supportive environment.
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm with one hour of unpaid break
Client Timezone: Central Time (Texas)
Responsibilities:
- Manage QuickBooks data entry and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records
- Match invoices to bank transactions and properly categorize all financial activity
- Handle accounts receivable collections through professional phone calls and email follow-ups
- Track customer payment statuses and apply appropriate pressure to collect overdue accounts
- Coordinate insurance verification processes through third-party systems for multiple clients
- Work with insurance agents to complete verification requirements when policies expire
- Communicate with internal team members to clarify transaction purposes for accurate categorization
- Implement and maintain improved bookkeeping processes and organizational systems
Requirements:
- Proven experience with QuickBooks and general bookkeeping practices
- Strong English communication skills for professional customer interactions
- Experience with accounts receivable and collections processes
- Ability to work Central Standard Time business hours consistently
- Comfortable working with US-based businesses and understanding US accounting standards
- Detail-oriented approach to transaction categorization and record-keeping
- Professional phone manner for customer collections and relationship management
- Bonus if you have experience with insurance verification processes
- It helps if you’ve worked with service-based businesses before
Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
