Role Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to bring organization and precision to our financial records. This role is perfect for a professional who enjoys "cleaning up" sets of books and establishing efficient workflows for Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP). You will be responsible for ensuring our financial data is accurate, reconciled, and compliant with US accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Book Reconstruction & Organization: Review historical data to organize charts of accounts and ensure all past transactions are categorized correctly.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage invoicing, track collections, and ensure payments are applied accurately to customer accounts.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, verify approvals, and schedule payments to maintain good vendor relationships.
- Bank & Credit Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts and credit cards to ensure the ledger matches statement balances.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare basic monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow) for leadership review.
- Compliance: Ensure all bookkeeping practices align with US GAAP and stay current with federal and state tax filing requirements.
- Cleanup Project: Assist in a one-time "deep clean" of the current books to prepare for future tax seasons or audits.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, specifically working with US-based companies.
- US Accounting Laws: Solid understanding of US tax implications, 1099 requirements, and GAAP standards.
- Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero, or Sage. Familiarity with receipt management tools (like Dext or Hubdoc) is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: An analytical mind with a "detective" approach to finding and fixing entry errors.
- Communication: Clear, professional written and verbal communication for dealing with vendors and internal teams.
