Shopify Marketing Automation & Content Specialist

Job Overview 

About half of the role focuses on content creation, including website copy and case studies, while the other half supports marketing automation like email, SMS, and ecommerce merchandising.
The team actively uses AI tools, so experience leveraging them to boost productivity and creativity is key.

Schedule: Hours: client can be flexible, but they are based in Mountain Standard Time. 35 paid hours per week, Monday to Friday. Specific hours can be discussed during interview. 
 
What You'll Work On
• Create and update website content including landing pages, product descriptions, and collection pages in Shopify
 • Write case studies highlighting customer experiences, partnerships, and brand initiatives
 • Build and schedule email and SMS campaigns including segmentation and light design
 • Assist in managing marketing automation flows such as welcome series, abandoned cart, and post-purchase campaigns
 • Support ecommerce marketing initiatives including product launches, promotions, and merchandising updates
 • Collaborate with retail and franchise teams to support localized marketing efforts and Traveling Hat Bar events
 • Support B2B and wholesale communications and marketing materials
 • Use AI tools to assist with research, prompt-based content development, campaign planning, and workflow automation
 • Track campaign performance and assist with reporting on engagement and conversion metrics
 • Collaborate with designers, developers, and marketing leadership to execute campaigns across multiple channels
 
What We're Looking For
 • 1–3 years of marketing, ecommerce, or digital marketing experience (APPLICATIONS WITH PORTFOLIOS WILL BE PRIORITIZED)
 • Hands-on Shopify experience is required
 • Strong writing skills and ability to create clear, engaging marketing content
 • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar tools
 • Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or Copilot, including writing prompts and using AI to improve marketing workflows
 • Comfortable working across both content creation and marketing systems
 • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
 • A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn new marketing tools and strategies
 
Nice to Have
 • Experience working with ecommerce or DTC brands
 • Experience with SMS marketing platforms such as Postscript or Attentive
 • Familiarity with franchise or retail marketing
 • Basic design experience with Canva, Figma, or Adobe
 • Understanding of lifecycle marketing and marketing automation
