Job Overview
Our client is looking for a versatile Mid-level Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations and provide essential administrative support. This role is critical in maintaining the financial health of the business across multiple e-commerce sales channels and currencies. You will be responsible for ensuring high-accuracy data entry, managing Canadian tax compliance, and supporting operational workflows such as payroll and social media scheduling.

Monday - Friday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Pacific Time (20 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial data entry in QuickBooks, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date across CAD and USD currencies.
- Process and reconcile transactions across multiple payment platforms, including Shopify, Square, and Stripe.
- Prepare and file Canadian tax obligations (HST and PST for British Columbia) and manage payroll processing and government reporting through QuickBooks.
- Handle invoicing and explore opportunities to consolidate payment processing workflows to increase efficiency.
- Support general tasks such as scheduling social media posts, monitoring project timelines on kanban boards, and coordinating check-ins with key points of contact.
- Organize and digitally store receipts and financial documents within Google Drive.
Requirements
- Mid-level bookkeeping experience (at least 4 years) with a strong foundation in QuickBooks.
- Experience working with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify.
- Familiarity with the Canadian tax system, specifically HST, PST, and payroll reporting.
- Proficiency with Google Suite (Google Drive, Google Chat) for communication and file management.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently.
Scope
- Maintain and reconcile books across multiple sales channels and currencies (CAD and USD).
- Generate financial reports to support business decision-making and government compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline invoicing and payment consolidation.
- Gradually take on additional administrative and operational tasks as familiarity with the business grows.
