Job Description
We are seeking a Medical Receptionist with a strong healthcare background to serve as the primary triaging point for our Heartline department. In this role, you will manage high volumes of calls and voicemails, ensuring that medical inquiries are prioritized and administrative requests are routed to the appropriate teams.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time with an hour unpaid break
Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume incoming calls and voicemails for the specialized Heartline department.
- Perform active triaging to determine the urgency and nature of patient concerns.
- Redirect non-clinical calls to appropriate departments such as booking or general administration.
- Assist patients in navigating the clinic's IVR system to ensure they reach the correct queue.
- Document patient interactions and triage decisions accurately in the system.
- Collaborate with in-house nursing staff to streamline clinical workflows and reduce triaging time.
- Ensure all patient communications are handled with professional empathy and clinical accuracy.
- Follow strict data privacy and documentation protocols for all patient information.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical or clinical environment is essential.
- Strong medical terminology knowledge to understand patient symptoms and priorities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle high call volumes while maintaining composure and accuracy.
- Detail-oriented approach to documenting patient voicemails and inquiries.
- Bonus if you have a formal nursing or medical assistant background.
- It helps if you have experience working with IVR systems and remote medical operations.
