Estimator & Technical Sales Representative (Millwork)

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially driven Millwork Estimator to support pre-construction and sales efforts through accurate bid preparation, client engagement, and cost optimization. This role plays a critical part in driving revenue growth by identifying new project opportunities, producing competitive estimates, and maintaining strong client and vendor relationships.

The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge of millwork and specialty products with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Schedule: Full-time | Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM


Key Responsibilities

Client & Business Development

  • Communicate with clients before, during, and after the bidding process to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Identify and help secure new project opportunities to increase sales volume and profitability
  • Represent the company professionally to current and prospective clients

Estimating & Bid Management

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates aligned with project requirements
  • Ensure estimates comply with AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute) standards and applicable regulations
  • Perform value engineering to optimize cost, materials, and lead times without compromising quality

Vendor & Market Coordination

  • Engage with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and lead times
  • Conduct market and competitor research to maintain competitive positioning
  • Maintain updated pricing databases and cost benchmarks

Documentation & Systems

  • Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and client communications
  • Utilize estimating software and CRM tools to track bids and manage workflows
  • Ensure data accuracy across spreadsheets, systems, and reports

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client interactions professionally
  • Must have experience with Innergy
  • High level of computer literacy with the ability to quickly learn new web-based tools and estimating software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications
  • Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in custom millwork, cabinetry, or specialty construction estimating (preferred but not required)
  • Background in sales, estimating, or construction-related industries
  • Familiarity with AWI standards and millwork manufacturing processes is an advantage
  • Experience using Innergy

Training & Development

  • On-the-job training provided, particularly for candidates without prior millwork experience
  • Ongoing skill development in estimating tools, systems, and industry standards
