Our client provides excavator and machinery hire to civil construction companies across Australia. They are seeking a dedicated professional to manage financial workflows and ensure consistent revenue collection through accurate invoicing and payroll.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to manage all financial administration within Xero. You will handle everything from processing field worker dockets to chasing client payments, ensuring the business's financial records are accurate, reconciled, and up to date to support ongoing operations.
Schedule
- 6 am 2pm Australian business hours AEST/AEDT; 40h per week
Responsibilities
- Process employee timesheets and dockets into accurate client invoices using Xero
- Prepare and distribute pay slips for workers on a regular schedule
- Send invoices to clients and follow up to ensure timely payment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records within Xero
- Reconcile accounts and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded
- Manage the end-to-end invoicing workflow from timesheet receipt to client payment
- Support general administrative tasks as needed to streamline daily operations
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of bookkeeping experience working with Australian businesses
- Proficiency in Xero for invoicing, payroll, and financial record-keeping
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll and invoicing standards
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry
- Strong written communication skills for professional correspondence
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Bonus if you have experience in the plant hire or civil construction industry
- It helps if you have previously handled timesheet-based invoicing workflows
