Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Magento Developer to help manage and enhance their e-commerce infrastructure and gradually take ownership of responsibilities currently handled by an external agency. This role involves managing the technical operation of three Magento-based websites, ensuring stability, security, uptime, and ongoing performance improvements. 

Client Overview

Our client is a growing e-commerce business operating multiple Magento-based online stores in the UK market. They focus on maintaining secure, high-performing e-commerce websites while continuously improving functionality, user experience, and operational efficiency.

Schedule

  • Flexible within UK business hours (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical operation, hosting support, and maintenance of three Magento-based e-commerce websites
  • Monitor hosting environments, site performance, uptime, and server-related configurations
  • Apply Magento updates, security patches, and ongoing platform maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and protect the customer experience
  • Develop, test, and deploy new website features and e-commerce improvement projects
  • Optimize website speed, performance, reliability, and overall user experience
  • Review and improve Magento extensions, integrations, and custom functionality
  • Support technical SEO initiatives including site speed, crawlability, and structured data
  • Manage Cloudflare configuration, including firewall rules, caching, redirects, and bot activity monitoring
  • Communicate project progress, timelines, and technical risks clearly with internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Magento development, hosting management, and e-commerce platform maintenance
  • Hands-on experience using Cloudflare for e-commerce websites, including security and traffic management
  • Strong understanding of Magento architecture, themes, extensions, integrations, and deployment workflows
  • Ability to monitor Cloudflare performance metrics and security events
  • Strong understanding of website architecture, industry best practices, and performance optimization
  • Ability to independently manage multiple development projects from planning through deployment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Experience transitioning responsibilities from an external Magento agency is highly advantageous
