Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This role will focus primarily on preparing financial statements, tax returns, and activity statements, with additional exposure to fringe benefits tax (FBT) processes.

The ideal candidate is someone with solid accounting experience who can work independently, manage deadlines effectively, and deliver accurate outputs with minimal supervision.

Work Schedule: 40hrs per week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with 1 hour unpaid break | Australian Eastern Time

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements for a variety of clients
• Complete and lodge tax returns (individual, company, and other relevant entities)
• Prepare and manage Business Activity Statements (BAS) on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Assist with and prepare Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns annually
• Extract and analyze financial data from client bookkeeping systems
• Review reports and ensure accuracy before submission
• Maintain organized and up-to-date client records
• Work with internal systems to manage client files and compliance requirements

Tools & Systems

• Primary accounting software: Xero
• Exposure to Xero Practice Manager is highly preferred
• Familiarity with other platforms such as MYOB is an advantage

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• CPA or CA qualification is required
• At least 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong experience in:
• Financial statements preparation
• Tax returns
• BAS and activity statements
• FBT (highly desirable)

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Australian accounting standards and compliance
• Prior experience in a remote or outsourced setup
• Familiarity with multiple client accounts and deadline-driven environments
