Job Overview
Bilingual Legal Assistant supporting a litigation firm by managing client communications, handling 100 weekly legal pleadings, and organizing documents in MyCase. Responsible for accurate time billing, incoming call handling, and maintaining a fully paperless workflow.
Requires prior law office experience, strong knowledge of legal terminology, and excellent English/Spanish communication skills.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Eastern with a 30-minute paid break
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls and take detailed messages for attorneys and staff
- Send written communications and legal pleadings to clients on a weekly basis, managing approximately 100 pleadings per week
- Manage and organize legal documents within MyCase and the firm's backup server to ensure data integrity
- Accurately bill time for all work performed using the firm's case management system
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients in both English and Spanish
- Support the firm's transition to a fully paperless workflow by ensuring proper digital filing and document management
Requirements:
- College-educated with prior experience working in a law office, preferably in a litigation setting
- Fluent in both English and Spanish with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
- Familiarity with legal terminology and litigation workflows
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy when handling legal documents
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced legal environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume of tasks
Scope:
- Dedicated solely to this firm with no other client assignments
- Serve as a key point of contact for client communications and document distribution
- Operate within the firm's digital infrastructure, including MyCase and the firm's server
- Contribute to maintaining the firm's paperless operations and document backup protocols

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement.
