Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations for a growing Australian business. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and confident in handling end-to-end bookkeeping responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM AEST,  (4 hours per day, 20 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end bookkeeping using Xero
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Prepare and assist with BAS (Business Activity Statements)
• Process and manage Australian payroll in compliance with regulations
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, including timely follow-ups
• Maintain and organize financial data and records
• Collaborate with external accountants for reporting and compliance
• Support cash flow monitoring and basic financial reporting

Requirements:

• Proven experience in bookkeeping for Australian businesses
• Strong proficiency in Xero
• Solid understanding of Australian payroll and BAS compliance
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Excellent communication skills with a strong emphasis on overcommunication and proactive updates
• Reliable, responsive, and able to manage priorities effectively
• Detail-oriented and highly reliable
• Proactive and takes full ownership of tasks
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
