Overview:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper & Financial Reconciliation Specialist to manage and audit financial records across multiple business locations. This role involves conducting a thorough review of historical financial data, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and implementing streamlined bookkeeping processes for ongoing financial management.
The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping and financial auditing experience, excels in Excel and accounting software, and can identify discrepancies with precision. This is a remote role requiring availability during Central Time business hours.
Schedule: Full-time 40 hours a week, flexible during client business hours | TX, USA Time Zone
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of 8–10 months of historical financial records
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and third-party payment processor accounts
- Track inventory, operational costs, and overhead expenses using Excel and accounting software
- Prepare accurate monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for multiple business locations
- Manage invoicing processes and maintain accurate expense tracking records
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between bank records and bookkeeping entries
- Clean up disorganized or incomplete financial data and improve reporting accuracy
- Implement and maintain a streamlined bookkeeping and financial recording system
- Monitor daily or weekly financial transactions and ensure timely data entry
- Coordinate remotely with accountants and other financial stakeholders when necessary
- Monitor cash flow, account balances, and financial trends across multiple accounts
- Maintain organized financial documentation and reporting systems
Requirements:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial auditing
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting platforms such as QuickBooks or Xero
- Experience handling multiple business accounts or multi-location financial records
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and bookkeeping best practices
- Ability to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and financial inaccuracies
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail for line-by-line financial verification
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Reliable availability during Central Time business hours
