Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled SolidWorks Design Engineer (Robotics) to develop complex machinery and automation solutions. You will be responsible for transforming project briefs into production-ready designs using SolidWorks, working through iterative feedback cycles to ensure technical excellence and manufacturing readiness.
Client Overview:
Our client is a premier mechanical engineering firm specializing in robotics and automation systems. They support an established in-house engineering team by scaling design capacity during high-demand project cycles.
Schedule:
- Mondays to Fridays, flexible schedule within the client’s business hours (Israel time, 20 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
- Design complex machines for robotics and automation applications from scratch using SolidWorks
- Interpret detailed project briefs covering dimensions, functionality, and component requirements
- Refine and progress machine designs through iterative feedback sessions with engineering managers
- Generate production-ready PDF drawings and comprehensive technical documentation for manufacturing
- Ensure design alignment and project continuity through remote collaboration with the core team
- Maintain high standards of accuracy in technical drawings to facilitate seamless manufacturing
- Manage multiple design iterations while meeting strict project timelines
- Propose mechanical solutions for complex automation challenges
Requirements:
- Proven experience in mechanical design engineering with a portfolio of robotics or complex machinery (APPLICATIONS WITH PORTFOLIOS WILL BE PRIORITIZED)
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and production-level technical drawing
- Deep understanding of mechanical components, robotics systems, and automation hardware
- Exceptional attention to detail in creating manufacturing-ready documentation and PDF drawings
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision across several days between check-ins
- Strong English communication skills for technical feedback sessions
- Bonus if you have experience with manufacturing standards in the robotics industry
- It helps if you have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
