Graphic Designer (Print, Embroidery & Apparel Production)

Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to support ongoing design production for screen printing, embroidery, apparel graphics, signage, and customer artwork preparation. This role requires someone who can take customer ideas, references, and concepts and transform them into polished designs — adding creativity and professional judgment rather than simply copying examples. The ideal candidate understands both the creative and technical sides of design, ensuring artwork is visually strong while remaining practical for production.

Schedule

  • Type: Part-Time / Freelance ongoing engagement (with potential to increase based on workload)
  • Hours: Flexible schedule with availability for communication during U.S. business hours
  • Client Timezone: Central Time (CT)

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Creative Development

  • Create original designs based on customer ideas, notes, examples, and references
  • Develop creative concepts while maintaining customer vision and brand requirements
  • Design artwork for: Screen printing, Embroidery, DTF apparel graphics, Custom clothing designs, Logos, Business cards, Banners, Signs, and Promotional materials
  • Improve and redraw customer artwork when required
  • Add creative input to elevate designs beyond the original references

Print & Production Artwork Preparation

  • Prepare clean, professional, production-ready artwork files
  • Ensure designs meet requirements for: Screen printing, Embroidery digitization, Apparel decoration, and Large format printing
  • Understand limitations around: Line thickness, Detail level, Color separation, Readability, and Print quality
  • Adjust artwork to ensure designs can be produced efficiently

File Management & Revisions

  • Provide final artwork in required professional formats including: AI, EPS, PDF, SVG, CDR (preferred if available), and other vector formats
  • Manage customer revision requests professionally
  • Maintain organized design files for future use
  • Communicate clearly regarding project timelines and updates
  • Deliver consistent turnaround times for ongoing requests

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, Production Artist, or Apparel Designer
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous design work (APPLICATIONS WITH PORTFOLIOS WILL BE PRIORITIZED)
  • Experience designing for: Print shops, Apparel brands, Promotional products, Embroidery, or screen printing
  • Advanced skills with professional design software such as: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar tools
  • Strong understanding of vector artwork creation
  • Ability to follow creative direction while adding original design ideas
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
  • Ability to manage multiple design requests independently
  • Strong communication skills for understanding customer needs

Highly Regarded Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience working directly with print or embroidery companies
  • Knowledge of embroidery-friendly artwork preparation
  • Experience preparing separations for screen printing
  • Familiarity with DTF printing workflows
  • Logo design and branding experience
  • Experience recreating or cleaning low-quality customer artwork
  • Understanding of production timelines and print shop workflows
