Having recently secured $1.8M in funding, they are entering a critical phase of international expansion and already boast an extensive pipeline featuring major global brands, airports, and ports. Compensation: Approximately $2,400 USD per month
Responsibilities:
Financial Control, Governance & Founder Oversight
- Controls Enforcer: Develop, implement, and rigorously enforce strict expense policies and internal approval processes; strictly monitor and control founder/director spending and maintain meticulously accurate Director’s Loan Account (DLA) records.
- System Ownership: Set up scalable finance processes utilizing QuickBooks and Dext, migrating and automating manual activities where possible.
- Core Accounting: Maintain complete and accurate accounting records across all Group entities. Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and manage month-end/year-end close processes.
- Audit & Compliance: Prepare statutory accounts, support external auditors, and ensure strict compliance with UK GAAP and international regulatory requirements.
Multi-Entity Group Consolidation
- Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts for the global Group (linking P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).
- Manage intercompany accounting, transfer pricing tracking, and reconciliations across the UK, Australia, and the Serbia manufacturing hub.
- Coordinate with and oversee local finance providers and external overseas accountants.
Forecasting, Modeling & Fundraising Support
- Investor Readiness: Immediately assist the CFO in preparing financial sections of investor presentations, maintaining the fundraising data room, and supporting investor due diligence for the upcoming $4M round.
- Financial Modeling: Build and maintain detailed, integrated 3-statement financial models ($P&L$, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Commercial Finance: Support contract reviews, prepare project profitability/margin analyses, and build financial models for Energy Partnership Agreements (EPAs) and energy invoicing as the business scales.
Treasury & Working Capital
- Manage weekly cash flow reporting and monitor Group liquidity.
- Process supplier payment runs, manage international banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
Requirements:
Essential
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience with a strong background in financial accounting and consolidation.
- Deep hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Dext, and Advanced Microsoft Excel (complex financial modeling, formulas, and data analysis).
- A unique blend of "roll-up-your-sleeves" bookkeeping grit and high-level strategic commercial acumen.
- Comfortably challenge stakeholders constructively.
- Willingness to provide out-of-hours flexibility during peak transaction, fundraising, or reporting periods (extra hours will be compensated).
Desirable
- Experience in high-growth, venture-backed start-ups or manufacturing environments.
- Experience within the renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering, or technology sectors.
- Familiarity with international group structures, overseas subsidiaries, and project accounting.

Success Measures (First 12 Months)
- Establish an institutional-grade, robust month-end reporting and consolidation process.
- Successfully clean up, track, and formalize director loan records and expense policies.
- Deliver accurate integrated forecasts and cash flow models to support the $4M fundraising round.
- Successfully scale the finance infrastructure to seamlessly integrate new jurisdictions (e.g., US/South Africa).
