Role: Low Voltage Estimator (Structured Cabling & Security Systems)

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Low Voltage Estimator to support project estimation and proposal development for commercial technology infrastructure projects.
This role focuses on reviewing technical documentation, performing accurate takeoffs, preparing detailed estimates, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure projects are accurately scoped and priced.
The ideal candidate has experience with structured cabling, access control, surveillance/CCTV systems, and low voltage construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Estimating & Takeoffs
- Review project drawings, bid packages, specifications, and scopes of work for low voltage systems
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for:
- Structured cabling
- Copper and fiber optic cabling
- Access control systems
- CCTV and surveillance solutions
- Wireless infrastructure
- Low voltage pathways and equipment
- Estimate required materials, equipment, labor, and installation resources
- Prepare detailed pricing summaries and project cost estimates
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, alternates, and potential project risks
Proposal & Project Support
- Support preparation of bid responses and client proposals
- Work with internal sales, engineering, design, and project management teams to confirm project requirements
- Request and review pricing from vendors, distributors, manufacturers, and subcontractors
- Maintain organized estimate documentation, vendor quotes, notes, and supporting files
- Participate in project reviews and virtual site discussions when required
Technical Review & Coordination
- Read and interpret:
- Technology drawings
- Telecom plans
- Security layouts
- Electrical drawings
- Architectural documents
- Low voltage specifications
- Ensure estimates accurately reflect installation requirements and project expectations
- Ask clarifying questions when documentation is incomplete
- Support smooth project transition from estimate to delivery teams
Requirements
- 1–5+ years of experience in estimating, project coordination, design support, or similar roles within:
- Structured cabling
- Telecom
- Access control
- Security systems
- Low voltage infrastructure
- MUST BE BASED IN OR NEAR THE CLIENT'S TIMEZONE FOR SCHEDULE ALIGNMENT
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and construction documentation
- Knowledge of low voltage materials including:
- Cabling systems
- Pathways
- Racks and cabinets
- Security hardware
- Network infrastructure components
- Strong Excel skills and ability to create accurate pricing documentation
- High attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
- Clear written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with remote teams

- Previous experience supporting U.S.-based construction or technology teams remotely
