Job Overview
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Operations Team Lead to support critical laboratory operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of laboratory results that directly impact patient care within a structured, shift-based 24/7 operations environment.
In addition to performing operational and data management responsibilities, you will lead a team of five Medical Data Entry & Operations Coordinators, overseeing workflow accuracy, performance consistency, escalation management, scheduling coordination, and smooth shift handovers.
As the organization continues to grow and implement automation, the role will gradually evolve from hands-on data entry toward greater focus on system monitoring, quality assurance, process optimization, and operational oversight.

Must be open to shifting schedules, including nights, weekends, and rotating coverage (40 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily performance, workflow, and scheduling coverage of 5 Medical Data Entry & Operations Coordinators.
- Ensure accurate laboratory result processing, data quality, HIPAA compliance, and smooth shift handovers across a 24/7 operation.
- Monitor laboratory information systems, escalate missing or delayed results, and track resolution.
- Review and verify data accuracy while maintaining operational logs, documentation, and reporting.
- Support phlebotomist scheduling, inventory management, and other operational coordination activities.
- Drive process improvements and support the transition from manual data entry to system monitoring and quality assurance.
- Perform medical data entry and handle incoming calls or administrative inquiries as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in healthcare administration, medical data entry, or a related healthcare support role
- HIPAA certification with a strong understanding of medical terminology, healthcare administrative processes, and healthcare privacy and compliance standards
- Experience working with laboratory information systems, EMRs, EHRs, or similar healthcare software platforms
- Proven leadership or team support experience in a healthcare or operational environment
- Exceptional data entry accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
- Experience with scheduling, inventory tracking, and other operational support functions
- Adaptable to evolving workflows, comfortable learning new systems, and open to overnight, weekend, and rotating schedules
