Medical Billing Specialist (eClinicalWorks)

Overview

Join our growing clinic as a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist, where your attention to detail, analytical skills, and proactive approach will play a critical role in maintaining a healthy revenue cycle. We are seeking a collaborative and experienced professional who can effectively manage claims, resolve denials, and support our providers in a fast-paced remote environment.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Georgia time

Responsibilities

  • Process and submit medical claims accurately and in a timely manner
  • Review, monitor, and follow up on unpaid, pending, or denied claims with insurance carriers
  • Investigate billing discrepancies and manage appeals for denied or underpaid claims
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, copays, deductibles, and coinsurance information
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records within EMR and billing systems
  • Communicate professionally with providers, clinic staff, patients, and insurance representatives
  • Assist with payment posting, account reconciliation, and accounts receivable follow-up
  • Ensure compliance with clinic policies, billing regulations, and insurance requirements
  • Utilize Google Workspace tools for reporting, documentation, and administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with team members to improve billing workflows and operational efficiency
  • Monitor claim status and proactively address issues that may impact reimbursement

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Required: Previous experience using eClinicalWorks (ECW)
  • Strong understanding of medical billing concepts and terminology, including: Deductibles, Copays, Coinsurance, Claims Processing, Prior Authorizations, and Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
  • Experience processing and managing insurance claims from submission through resolution
  • Proficiency with EMR and medical billing software systems
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, preferably within podiatry or related specialties
  • Experience using Google Workspace, including: Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Drive, and Other cloud-based administrative tools

  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments

  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership over assigned tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a podiatry, orthopedic, or specialty medical practice
  • Experience managing accounts receivable and insurance follow-up
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing processes
  • Experience working remotely in a medical billing or healthcare administration role
