Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative AI Automation Engineer to design, build, and optimize automations across internal systems using tools such as n8n, Rewst, Autotask PSA, Datto RMM, and IT Glue.
This role focuses on developing smart workflows that reduce manual work, improve efficiency, and enhance the client experience. Once key internal projects are complete, you’ll also contribute to AI and automation solutions for clients, helping extend these innovations as a service offering.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST (1-hour unpaid break)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage automation workflows using n8n, Rewst, and similar platforms
- Develop integrations and automations connecting Autotask PSA, Datto RMM, IT Glue, and Microsoft 365
- Collaborate with helpdesk, operations, marketing, and finance teams to identify and automate repetitive processes
- Build AI-powered workflows leveraging tools like OpenAI, Rewst AI Actions, or similar models for tasks such as summarization, categorization, or data processing
- Create and maintain API and webhook integrations across multiple SaaS platforms
- Document automation designs, logic, and processes clearly for internal reference
- Test, monitor, and optimize automations for reliability and performance
- Contribute to the design and delivery of automation and AI projects for clients once internal systems are established
- 2+ years of experience building AI tools or automation processes (must-have)
- Proven experience with automation platforms such as n8n, Rewst, Zapier, or Make (Integromat)
- Hands-on experience with Autotask PSA, Datto RMM, and IT Glue
- Strong understanding of API integrations, webhooks, and scripting (JavaScript or Python)
- Familiarity with AI/LLM integrations (OpenAI API, Claude, etc.) and prompt engineering concepts
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing projects independently in a remote setting
- Experience in an MSP or IT services environment
- Knowledge of Autotask API, Datto RMM API, or IT Glue API
- Experience automating workflows involving Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or QuickBooks Online
- Background in process mapping, business systems analysis, or technical project management
