Senior AU Bookkeeper (Xero & MYOB Expert)

Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of end-of-month reporting, account reconciliations, and financial record management across multiple client accounts. This role requires a highly organized professional with strong expertise in Xero and MYOB, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM AEST (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver accurate end-of-month financial reports for multiple client accounts
  • Reconcile balance sheets and ensure all accounts are balanced on a monthly basis
  • Complete bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Manage and monitor employee entitlements across client accounts
  • Perform bookkeeping data entry and maintain accurate financial records
  • Process and maintain financial information within Xero and MYOB
  • Take ownership of recurring reporting workflows and financial administration tasks
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and supporting records
  • Collaborate with the business owner to improve reporting processes and operational efficiency
  • Handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and confidentiality

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role
  • Has an understanding of Australian GST
  • Strong proficiency in both Xero and MYOB is a mandatory
  • Solid understanding of end-of-month reporting processes
  • Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously
