Job Overview
Our client is seeking a Medical Scheduling Coordinator (EMR & Insurance Support) to provide comprehensive administrative support for a private surgical practice. This role will handle patient scheduling, medical records coordination, insurance verification, and various administrative tasks to support daily operations. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare administrative experience and excellent communication skills to interact with patients, medical offices, and insurance providers.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time (40 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate patient follow-up appointments in the EMR system (RxNT).
- Answer patient calls, manage messages, and respond to scheduling requests.
- Contact patients, medical facilities, and labs to request and coordinate transfer of medical records, lab work, and imaging reports via phone and fax.
- Process doctor referrals by contacting patients and scheduling appointments.
- Complete insurance verification and authorization tasks for scheduled patients.
- Call patients to confirm upcoming appointments and address pre-visit questions.
- Complete medical forms and paperwork on behalf of the provider as requested.
- Manage daily task lists received via WhatsApp or email and prioritize accordingly.
- Maintain organized records and documentation within cloud-based practice management systems.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare administration or medical office support.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, EMR systems, and healthcare documentation.
- Professional English verbal and written communication skills for patient and provider interactions.
- Proven experience with insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Proficiency with cloud-based practice management tools and VOIP phone systems.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Experience working remotely with US-based healthcare clients or practices.
Nice to Have
- Bilingual capabilities in Spanish.
- Previous experience working as a virtual assistant in a medical or surgical practice.
- Familiarity with RxNT EMR system.
