Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD Draftsperson – Stone Fabrication & Construction Detailing  to support the pre-construction and project preparation process by transforming architectural plans into accurate technical drawings and production-ready documentation.

This role requires someone with strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret construction plans, and experience preparing precise drawings that support quoting, material planning, and project execution.

The ideal candidate is technically skilled, organized, and capable of working independently while collaborating closely with the local project team.

Schedule

• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM AEST preferred (approximately 70% schedule overlap required)

Key Responsibilities

Technical Drafting & Documentation

• Review and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans, and project specifications
• Create accurate AutoCAD shop drawings and technical documentation
• Prepare detailed drawings for stone fabrication and installation requirements
• Ensure all drawings align with project specifications, measurements, and quality standards
• Update drawings based on revisions, client feedback, and project changes
• Maintain organized records of drawing versions and project documentation

Material Estimation & Project Support

• Analyze plans to determine stonework requirements and material quantities
• Assist with calculating slab requirements, dimensions, and material usage
• Support the quoting process by providing accurate measurements and documentation
• Prepare information related to finishes, edge profiles, and design details
• Assist the team with technical information during material sourcing and production preparation

Coordination & Workflow Management

• Collaborate with project managers, suppliers, and internal teams
• Communicate clearly regarding drawing requirements, timelines, and revisions
• Ensure documentation is delivered accurately and within deadlines
• Identify potential design or measurement issues before production
• Support continuous improvement of drafting processes and templates

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as an AutoCAD Draftsperson or similar role
• Strong proficiency using AutoCAD for architectural or construction drawings
• Ability to read and interpret detailed architectural plans
• Experience preparing shop drawings and technical documentation
• Strong understanding of measurements, layouts, and construction details
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Reliable internet connection and professional remote setup

Highly Regarded Skills & Experience

• Experience within stonemasonry, stone fabrication, countertops, joinery, cabinetry, or similar construction fields
• Previous experience working with Australian construction projects
• Knowledge of Australian building documentation standards
• Experience supporting estimating or quoting processes
• Familiarity with premium residential or architectural projects
• Experience collaborating remotely with construction teams
