Business Development Representative (Salesforce)

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a Business Development Representative to support the Head of Business Development across the early stages of the business sales process in Salesforce. The role carries the front end of the pipeline so the Head of Business Development can concentrate on later-stage selling, commercial terms, and closing.

The ideal candidate will own outbound prospecting, account nurturing, and new account outreach. This role works the Nurture, Engaged, and Discover stages day-to-day, booking qualified meetings and keeping opportunity records current and accurate. It focuses on the same large, science-led, technically oriented, and research-driven organizations as the wider team, including but not limited to life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, and healthcare, targeting senior leaders across Learning and Development, Talent, HR, People, Organizational Development, and Culture functions. It partners closely with Content Development on account warming during the Nurture and Engaged stages and with Proposal Development on early pursuit materials.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Eastern Time plus 3 flexible hours (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Execute outbound prospecting and manage multi-channel outreach campaigns to generate qualified meetings and maintain engagement with target accounts.
  • Research target companies and decision-makers to build prospect lists and personalize outreach based on business needs and priorities.
  • Conduct initial qualification conversations, capturing client requirements, budget signals, timelines, and next steps in Salesforce.
  • Manage and advance early-stage opportunities through Salesforce while maintaining accurate pipeline data and CRM hygiene.
  • Coordinate discovery meetings for the Head of Business Development, providing research, notes, and supporting context for each conversation.
  • Manage follow-up sequences, monitor market signals and trigger events, and ensure priority relationships remain active.
  • Track outreach and pipeline metrics and support ad hoc prospecting, account planning, and business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, lead generation, or account management.
  • Experience conducting outbound prospecting through email, LinkedIn, phone, and other channels.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM platforms for managing pipelines and customer interactions.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to research target companies, identify decision-makers, and personalize outreach strategies.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-up, time management, and the ability to work toward KPIs and sales targets.
  • Experience selling to B2B organizations is preferred; exposure to life sciences, healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or professional services is a plus.
