Social Media & Marketing Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and highly organized Social Media & Marketing Assistant to support the growth of a personal wellness brand. In this role, you will manage content across Instagram and YouTube, edit engaging short-form videos, create email newsletters, and support business development through outreach and research initiatives. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about building online communities and expanding brand visibility. 

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. EST


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain brand consistency across Instagram and YouTube platforms, including scheduling and posting content strategically
  • Edit short-form video content recorded by the client for social media and YouTube publication
  • Design and distribute weekly newsletters via Flodesk, including inspiration content and class connection links
  • Conduct research on international retreat locations, evaluating season, logistics, and suitability
  • Draft and send outreach emails and pitch submissions for upcoming yoga festivals and workshop opportunities
  • Monitor social media engagement and respond to messages to foster community growth

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in social media management and digital marketing for a personal brand or small business (APPLICATIONS WITH PORTFOLIOS WILL BE PRIORITIZED)
  • Strong video editing skills for short-form content suitable for Instagram and YouTube
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms and newsletter design
  • Excellent written communication skills with a professional yet warm tone
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent posting schedules
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to suggest new ideas for audience growth and monetization

Scope:

  • Part-time engagement of approximately 15 hours per week (60 hours per month)
  • Support the client's growing wellness brand across social media, email marketing, and administrative research
  • Help drive audience growth on Instagram and YouTube to expand the client's student base
  • Assist with time-sensitive projects including retreat planning and festival pitch preparation
  • Operate within the client's preferred time zone with some scheduling flexibility
  • Serve as a long-term dedicated resource to free up the client's time for teaching and content recording
