Outbound Sales Representative (Solar)

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a resilient and results-driven Outbound Sales Representative (Solar) to manage high-volume outbound cold calling campaigns targeting residential homeowners. In this role, you will use pre-supplied data and scripts to qualify prospects based on their energy needs and schedule in-home consultations for the field sales team. This position is perfect for a self-motivated professional with a strong phone presence who can consistently turn cold outreach into qualified sales opportunities.

Schedule

Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM ET (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-volume outbound cold calls to residential homeowners using pre-supplied data and scripts.
  • Qualify homeowners based on their interest in solar, energy bill pain points, and previous solar interactions.
  • Book in-home appointments for the solar consultant within a 30-mile service radius.
  • Capture key insights from each conversation, including homeowner objections, prior solar exposure, and billing concerns.
  • Provide end-of-shift summaries highlighting warm leads, callbacks needed, and appointment confirmations.
  • Follow up with previously contacted homeowners to nurture interest and re-engage prospects.
  • Work directly with the business owner in a one-to-one collaborative structure.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in outbound cold calling, preferably in solar, energy, or home services.
  • Strong active listening skills with the ability to identify and document homeowner pain points.
  • Professional written and verbal English communication skills. 
  • High level of resilience and ability to handle rejection consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail when recording call outcomes and prospect information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during scheduled shifts.
  • Proficiency utilizing structural homeowner data points including demographics, roof condition, and sun hours.
