Interior Designer (Architectural Drafter)

Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to support multifamily and hospitality renovation projects. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, take ownership of design tasks, and contribute from concept development through construction documentation.

Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM EST (20 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Develop design concepts, material palettes, and finish selections for renovation projects
  • Create and maintain construction documentation and design presentations
  • Produce accurate 2D as-built drawings from scanned field surveys
  • Specify materials, finishes, lighting, millwork, and FF&E
  • Support design presentations and communicate concepts to clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and consultants to ensure design intent is maintained
  • Assist in the development of standardized design packages and documentation

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
  • Experience with SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to create 2D as-built drawings from scanned field surveys
  • Solid knowledge of materials, finishes, lighting, and construction documentation
  • Understanding of building codes and accessibility requirements
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications

  • Experience developing custom carpet, lighting, or specialty finish specifications is preferred
  • Familiarity with standardized or catalog-based design systems
  • Interest in leveraging AI tools and technology to enhance design workflows
