Performance Marketing Specialist

Schedule:

  • Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (Australian Eastern Time), with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break (40 hours per week/8 hours per day)

As a Digital & Performance Marketing Specialist, you'll step into a highly autonomous,
multi-faceted role driving paid media, technical tracking, and digital performance for major
B2B and enterprise accounts.
Working on these accounts means your daily campaign optimisations, strategic planning,
and technical expertise will directly impact high-level lead generation and digital visibility for
national and global leaders. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams, designers, and
external partners to take over existing accounts, untangle complex setups, and execute
end-to-end digital campaigns.
If you are a versatile digital marketer who lives and breathes ROAS, GA4, and B2B
strategy—and you love being hands-on across both strategy and execution—this role offers
the opportunity to take ownership of complex accounts and scale their digital footprint.
Overview
● Reports to Senior Account Director, Marketing Communications
● Responsibility for delivering and optimising end-to-end paid media, digital tracking,
and campaign automation programs.
The person
● Active Platform Expert: You have 4+ years of hands-on, daily experience actively
managing and scaling Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and LinkedIn Ads for clients. This
is non-negotiable.
● Technical & Data-Driven: You possess hands-on experience with Google Tag
Manager (GTM) conversion tracking implementation and advanced, daily proficiency
in GA4. You are comfortable using LookerStudio for reporting.
● B2B Strategist: You have a deep understanding of B2B marketing strategies and a
proven track record of delivering end-to-end B2B campaigns.
● Multi-Skilled Mindset: You are a versatile digital marketer comfortable across the
entire spectrum: strategy, technical tracking, campaign execution, and reporting.
● Autonomous & Proactive: You thrive in a remote environment, easily navigating
client approval workflows and managing your own day-to-day priorities. Looker
Studio experience is highly regarded.

1. The role
Account takeovers and media planning
● Lead the seamless takeover of existing ad accounts from previous agencies and
internal teams, conducting deep-dive audits to identify trends, opportunities and
challenges.
● Take internal and client briefs and turn them into actionable media
plans—researching publishers, mapping out the funnel, and allocating budgets.
● Analyse competitor ad strategies, keyword targeting, and market trends to find gaps
and inform ongoing campaign positioning.
● Negotiate and execute direct digital media buys with industry-specific trade
magazines and targeted online publications as required.
Campaign management and execution
● Set up and launch new campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Performance Max,
Demand Gen, Video, Shopping), Microsoft Ads, and LinkedIn.
● Manage daily pacing by checking spend, CPA, and ROAS across multiple ad
accounts, reallocating budgets, and fixing disapproved ads.
● Execute granular campaign optimisations: reviewing search terms to build negative
keyword lists, reviewing and updating ad creatives, and tweaking audience
parameters.
Technical tracking and automation
● Lead the setup, implementation, and ongoing troubleshooting of GA4 and GTM to
ensure tracking is flawless across all campaigns.
● Work within limited-access client environments (e.g., ABB's Pardot) to build
campaign redirects, landing page forms, and automated email nurture series.
● Manage the transition of GTM tags from previous partners, finding and fixing any
breaks in lead routing or conversion pixels.
Content, CMS and collaboration
● Write compelling ad copy, draft briefs for the design team, and manage the
feedback loop to get visual assets approved and loaded into ad platforms.
● Build and update campaign-specific landing pages within client-owned CMS
platforms, strictly following their staging and approval workflows.
● Analyse user behaviour to identify conversion drop-offs and propose data-backed
landing page optimisations.

2. Account reporting
● Compile weekly, fortnightly, or monthly performance data across all active
platforms.
● Write contextual commentary explaining the why behind the numbers and outline
strategic pivots for stakeholders.
● (Preferred) Build, maintain and review live data dashboards in Looker Studio /
Google Data Studio.
