Financial Analyst / Associate

Job Description:
Boutique media & entertainment advisory firm seeks a Analyst/Associate to support the founder on active client engagements. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on exposure across a variety of media and entertainment deals — capital raises, valuations, business plans, financial models, and strategic advisory work spamming across Film/TV, Music, Sports, Gaming, Podcast, Creator Economy and more.

The role is focused on building financial models and client-ready presentations. The ideal candidate has strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, solid finance and accounting fundamentals, and 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or FP&A. Prior exposure to media/entertainment finance is a plus but not required.

High-volume, fast-turnaround environment with immediate deal reps and direct access to the founder.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with 1 hour unpaid lunch break)

Key Responsibilities:

● Build and maintain financial models — operating models, investment models, forecasts, valuations, and scenario analyses — across multiple concurrent client engagements
● Develop client-ready presentations and pitch materials: management decks, investor one-pagers, board packages, and capital-raise collateral
● Turn raw client data (financials, cap tables, contracts, statements) into clean, structured analysis
● Support diligence and capital formation workstreams, including comps, benchmarking, and market research
● Own formatting and quality control so every deliverable meets the firm's presentation standard
● Handle ad hoc analysis and research as engagements demand

Requirements:

● 1–3 years of experience in investment banking preferred; candidates from private equity, consulting, corporate development, or corporate strategy backgrounds will also be considered.
● Advanced Excel — comfortable building a three-statement model from scratch
● Familiar usage with AI / Claude (Subscription will be provided) 
● Strong PowerPoint / deck-building skills with a genuine eye for design and detail
● Solid grasp of finance and accounting fundamentals (valuation, unit economics, financial statements, revenue recognition, depreciation & amortization)
● Sharp written communication and the judgment to work independently in a small-firm environment
● Interest in entertainment, media, and/or music is a strong plus
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex business situations and translate them into actionable financial insights.
● Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with the flexibility to navigate evolving client needs and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
● Ability to synthesize incomplete information, ask thoughtful questions, and independently drive workstreams forward.

Nice to have:
● Prior exposure to media/entertainment finance or deal work
● Familiarity with tools like Notion, and comfort adopting new systems quickly
