Job Overview:
Are you an experienced architectural professional with a master-level command of AutoCAD and a track record of producing permit-ready residential designs?
Our client is hiring a Senior Residential Architect (AutoCAD) to independently drive complete construction document sets from concept through permitting. To thrive in this role, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or a related field) and bring at least 3 years of hands-on experience in residential construction detailing, building codes, and advanced drafting. Strong technical problem-solving skills and AutoCAD proficiency are essential, with bonus points if you bring experience in Revit or SketchUp.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design team to develop complete construction document sets for residential projects.
- Translate conceptual designs into accurate, buildable plans that align with client requirements and local building codes.
- Independently prepare and manage full permit and construction drawing sets from schematic design through final documentation.
- Coordinate with structural, civil, MEP engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders to integrate project requirements.
- Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Revise plans based on client feedback, consultant input, and permitting requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, drawing standards, and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, drafting processes, and documentation workflows.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing residential construction documents.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit and SketchUp is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of residential building codes, construction methods, and detailing.
- Proven ability to independently produce complete permit and construction drawing sets.
- Excellent drafting, technical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote and cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with U.S. residential projects is highly preferred.
